Here are some examples for their application:

What comes after the verb? Ako, ako is the nominal I, meaning to say, the actor is the subject of the sentence.

What do you think is the function of "sa"?

"Sa" is loosely the equivalent of to, in, on, and at. So it is added prior to a word for a place.

"Ug" - has 2 major functions:
